The 10th International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for Education
(SETE 2025)

30.11.2025 - 3.12.2025 | The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong

WELCOME TO SETE

SETE 2025, the tenth Annual International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for Education, is also this year organized in conjunction with ICWL, thanks to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. SETE 2025 is organized in a main track, where research papers about the SETE Topics can be submitted, and in an array of workshops, which will help achieve inclusion and diversity in the overall offer of the symposium.

All accepted papers (main track and workshops), presented at the conference, will be published as a volume dedicated to SETE in the Springer series Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).

CALL FOR PAPERS

SETE 2025 is interested in the design, development and use of technology enhanced educational environments and tools. This research area is showing unprecedented developments and innovations, due to the continuing advancement in ICT, and developments of new methodologies allowed by Artificial Intelligence for Education.

Diversified emerging technologies containing various software and hardware components provide underlying infrastructure to create enormous potential educational applications incorporated by proper learning strategies. Moreover, those prevalent technologies might also lead to changes in the educational environment, such as learning performance. Meanwhile, new paradigms are also emerging along with the purpose of bringing these innovations to a certain level where they are widely accepted and sustainable.

Therefore, this symposium aims at serving as a meeting point for researchers, educationists, and practitioners to discuss state-of-the-art and in-progress research, exchange ideas, and share experiences about emerging technologies for education. This symposium attempts to provide opportunities for the cross-fertilization of knowledge and ideas from researchers in diverse fields that make up this interdisciplinary research area. We hope that the implications of findings of each work presented in this symposium can be used to improve the development of educational environments.

SETE is also open to proposals of workshops and special tracks, in order to enhance the variety of the research studies presented at the conference.

Paper submission instructions

Paper submission system is available at: Submission Portal. Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers reporting on research results, experimentations or novel applications in the fields of Technology-Enhanced Learning.

Submitted papers have to be in pdf format, and according to the Springer LNCS Authors Guidelines: Information for Authors. Formats for the submissions are either Full Paper (12-15 pages) or Short Paper (6-11 pages), including main content and references. Extra pages will have an additional cost. Submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least three competent reviewers; eligible papers will be accepted either as Full or Short Paper.

All accepted papers (main track and workshops), presented at the conference by a registered author, will be published as a volume in the Springer series Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). Authors should consult Springer's authors' guidelines and use the proceedings templates there linked. There are both LaTeX and Word formats: the authors make their choice. Also, authors should comply with Springer's authors' code of-conduct.

Special issues of selected papers

Among the papers accepted at the conference, some will be selected to be extended and submitted to a planned Special Issue of the Journal IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies. Another special issue is planned, for a relevant international journal (currently under negotiation with the publisher).
